Although decidedly rural, it offers residents fine dining, the best wineries, and scenic vistas. Hiking and biking trails are abundant in the nearby Sugarloaf Ridge State Park.

If you’re looking for a serene hideaway, Kenwood is your destination. The picturesque surroundings invoke a feeling of tranquil living, so close to nature and in the middle of superb wine country. The historic stone Kenwood Depot, which was built in 1887, is still in use today for community meetings and events. It is a great reminder of the love and care for Kenwood.

Palooza Brewery & Gastropub has a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and can enjoy their original brews and American-style food. They feature several tastings from local breweries and wineries paired with a special menu during the summer. If you’re looking for live music and great BBQ, stop at TIPS Roadside where you won't be disappointed. Try their famous Ultra Burger and Texas BBQ Cone, and on Wednesday they offer Texas-style ribs to die for! 
 
This award-winning restaurant, Salt & Stone, is an awesome venue serving delicious food in a beautiful setting. Outdoor seating affords fantastic views of the Sonoma Mountains along with a traditional menu. 
 
For a unique shopping experience, locals love Swede’s Feeds. At Swede’s, you’ll find a vast array of premium pet food, wild bird seed, garden supplies, and funky outdoor metal artwork. You’ll love strolling through their large open-air displays of eclectic garden artwork.  

Wineries abound in and around Kenwood for the ultimate in wine tastings, shopping, and live events. Chateau St. Jean has a 1920’s chateau where you can leisurely sit back and sip your wine while taking in this breathtaking estate. Family-owned and operated, the Ledson Winery & Vineyards has quite a history and a French-Normandy-inspired castle with award-winning wines. These and other wineries in the area are an oasis for sampling a variety of local wines and food in scenic surroundings.


Things to Do

Nearby Sugarloaf Ridge State Park has over 25 miles of hiking trails for all levels as well as plenty of campsites. It’s home to the headwaters of Sonoma Creek where a tremendous 25-foot waterfall can be viewed. Join a tour guide for an informative short 1.4-mile hike along Sonoma Creek.  Enjoy amazing stargazing at the Robert Ferguson Observatory located in the park. 
 
For runners, the Kenwood Footrace hails as the oldest 10K race in California and it offers a fast, out-and-back, 3K race as well.  Due to its popularity, the race fills up fast! 
 
The lovely Kenwood Inn & Spa is a Mediterranean-style property located on 2 ½ acres. It is luxuriously landscaped and surrounded by vineyards and trees. Guests will feel like they are on a retreat while staying here, enjoying their fountains, pools, and spa treatments.
